2017 Stream Monitoring

Mark Beardsley of EcoMetrics is continuing to collect stream data across the county.  It is important to monitor the stream temperature because  temperature regulates biochemical factors in stream. The state has  standards which need to be met. Some streams even at high altitude get  too hot in the summer. This will help determine types of remediation.  They will coordinate with Parks and Wildlife. A lot of riparian and  shady areas were lost when land use in the 1800s changed streams. They  will create a large database over five-years.  Funding will vary each  year based on other partners
